Respecting Diversity
No two people are ever the same – and being different is something that we should celebrate. There are some differences that can result in people being discriminated against.
People from different cultural backgrounds, people who identify as homosexual, queer or transgender, people living with a disability and people from Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander backgrounds are just some of the groups who experience discrimination based on their differences from mainstream society.
Being respectful of diversity means being inclusive, celebrating difference, and making sure that everyone’s voice is heard.
